Crimson Desert PS4 — Is Crimson Desert Coming to PlayStation 4?

PS4 Release Status

Crimson Desert is not coming to PS4. Pearl Abyss confirmed this in 2024. The game needs the PS5's SSD and CPU. The PS4 hardware cannot handle the open-world streaming.

Why No PS4 Version

  • The game has zero loading screens. That requires an SSD faster than PS4's HDD.
  • CPU-heavy physics and AI calculations need modern processors.
  • The open world uses LOD streaming that PS4's architecture cannot support.
  • Pearl Abyss wants a consistent experience. No downgraded version.

Your Options If You Only Have a PS4

Upgrade to a PS5. Or play on PC if your computer meets the requirements. Cloud streaming is not confirmed. Do not expect a PS4 port later. The studio has moved on from last-gen.
