Crimson Desert mounts are essential for traversing Pywel's vast map. Your first horse is a slow workhorse, but you can tame wild horses with better stats, buy warhorses from stables, and even unlock a mythical mount through a difficult side quest. Horse combat is viable but not required — you can dismount for every fight if you prefer.

Horse taming guide
- Equip the lasso from your tool wheel.
- Approach a wild horse slowly (crouch when within 10 meters).
- Throw the lasso when the prompt appears.
- Mash the interact key to calm the horse — do not let the bar empty.
- Mount up and ride until the horse stops bucking (about 10 seconds).
- Take the horse to a stable to register it permanently.
The 'Horse Whisperer' skill doubles taming speed. Invest one skill point into it early if you plan to tame multiple horses.

- Can your horse die permanently?
- No. If a horse takes fatal damage, it gets injured and respawns at the nearest stable after a cooldown.
- How many horses can I own?
- Up to five. Stables have a capacity limit, but you can release horses to make room for better ones.
