Crimson Desert Factions Guide — Greymane and More

Updated 2026-06-03

Crimson Desert factions shape your experience from the mid-game onward. There are four major factions, each with a reputation track that unlocks unique gear, quests, and discounts. Your Greymane allegiance is fixed—you are the leader, after all—but you can ally with other factions without betraying your own.

Which faction to prioritize

Max out Free Merchants first. The inventory expansion is invaluable, and the reduced shop prices save you thousands of silver over a playthrough. Ancient Order second—the hidden dungeon map is the only way to find several unique weapons. Pilgrims last unless you play on hard difficulty where healing items matter more.

Reputation gain is doubled during faction-specific quests. Check the quest log for the faction icon before deciding which quests to do first.

FAQ

Can I max all factions in one playthrough?
Yes, but it takes 60+ hours. Each faction has roughly 15 repeatable quests after the main story.
Do factions dislike each other?
No. There is no penalty for allying with multiple factions. The Free Merchants and Ancient Order even like it.
