Greymane Soldiers — Basic Enemies

Low threat

Updated 2026-06-03

Greymane Soldiers are the basic humanoid enemies you fight from the first hour onward. Former allies turned hostile after the opening betrayal, these soldiers use standard weapon sets — swords, shields, and occasional bows. They fight in groups of three to five and rely on simple flanking tactics. Individually they are harmless, but a pack of five can stun-lock an unprepared player.

Variants and weapon types

ShieldbearerSword + shieldLowBreak guard with charged heavy attack
ArcherShort bowLowClose distance fast — they are weak in melee
CaptainGreatswordMediumParry his charge attack, punish the recovery

Camp clearing strategy

Never run straight into a camp. Use the bow to pull one or two soldiers from the edge, then fall back to fight them isolated. Archers stand on elevated platforms and deal light damage — kill them first or use cover. Shieldbearers are slow; dodge through their shield and attack from behind. Captains telegraph their greatsword swings with a roar — that is your parry window.

Greymane soldiers drop silver and armor scraps. Loot every body — the scraps sell for 15 silver each and add up fast early game.

FAQ

Do Greymane soldiers respawn?
Yes. Camp respawns are tied to the in-game day cycle. A camp that is cleared at night respawns by the next evening.
Can I avoid fighting them entirely?
Most camps can be stealthed past if you crouch and stay out of patrol cones. Archers make this harder.
